playlist: Rouge Lawyer

“A good lawyer knows the law. A great lawyer knows the judge.” – Unknown

Now I’ve been reading ‘Rouge Lawyer’ by John Grisham for a while now, I know I’m just being lazy and should finish it already but cut me some slack I’ve been busy getting posts to you guys!

Anyhow, I’ve been listening to a lot of alternative music lately and decided to share my playlist for this read with you all. Keep in mind I have not finished it yet! So no spoilers!

This is just a generalised playlist, no song is used for a specific area.

Broken Bones, No Good and Way Down We Go by Kaleo from their A/B Album

I recently discovered Kaleo and I absolutely love their music. Their songs are somewhat slow but there are a couple of fast paced ones in the album as well. Their music is better suited for western novels but I like listening to them nonetheless. I feel like their music fits well with the story.

Dead Man’s Arms by Bishop Briggs

This song is on the list because I feel like it would be a good representation for Sebastian’s calculating and excessive demeanor. I’m not saying the man’s heartless or ‘dead’ in any way, frankly I love his personality but again I feel like it goes well with him as during cases he’s one cold-hearted bastard when it comes to winning.

Human by Rag ‘n’ Bone Man from their Human Album

This one sort of counters the aforementioned song. It has a good beat and I like it a lot. It also ties into the story well as we see several occasions in the novel where Sebastian tries to act ‘normal’ despite all the madness surrounding him.

No One Knows by Queens of the Stone Age from their Songs for the Deaf Album

This one has a really good beat and I feel that it goes well with the more fast paced parts of the of the story, particularly during the court scenes. This song really gets your blood pumping.

Bleed it out by LINKIN PARK from their Minutes to Midnight Album

This song goes well with the court scenes, I particularly enjoyed listening to it during the ‘Warrior Cops’ segment of the novel.

Heathens by Twenty One Pilots

This one is good for the slower parts of the book, mostly when Sebastian is on his own or just relaxing, playing Dirty Golf and so on.

Guilty by Rag’n’ Bone Man

This is a good one for the book overall. Sebastian’s a criminal Defense Lawyer, more often than not his clients are guilty of the crimes they are accused of. The shoe fits, just sayin’ .

Well that’s all I’ve got for you today, stay tuned and happy reading! Hope this playlist helps you out and please don’t question my taste in music, I’m a strange human and let’s leave it at that 😉 Happy reading!
