Good day my dear readers! A good friend asked me to the ‘books I’ll never read tag’ and so I’m complying with her request. I’ll leave a link to her channel down below, so please do check her out and without further ado enjoy my failed attempts at humor in this post.
1. A really hyped book I’m not interested in
I think one book or series I will never read is the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Normally, I would be into the whole story the Hunger Games provides but there is just so much hype surrounding this trilogy and the movie adaptations that I just can’t bring myself to read this. Also, when I was younger, I (accidently) watched half of the movie and honestly the story just did not catch my attention. So in a nutshell, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to bring myself to read this series.
2. A series I won’t start/ won’t be finishing
For this one, after much though, I’d have to say that honestly I will not be reading ‘The Throne of Glass’ series by Sarah. J . Maas anytime soon. Now, before you star bombarding me with hate and what not, hear me out. I read ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ this year and it’s another popular read by Maas and I absolutely LOVED IT. And I have been contemplating reading Throne of Glass but honestly I don’t think that I’ll like it all that much, especially with what I’ve heard of the main characters complicated love life, I’m just not a fan of that sort of thing. But I will definitely be continuing with the ACOTAR trilogy, so don’t fret!
3. A classic that I’m just not interested in
Oh god, here we go. You know what, I’m just gonna come out and say it. I HATED this book, I LOATHED it, DETESTED it, wanted it to burn in hell. This is not say that I hate classics, I loved Catcher in the Rye and Peter Pan and The Glass Menagerie and I am a fan of Shakespeare’s work as well but one classic I absolutely hated was Pride and Prejudice. I was supposed to read this for my book club and I managed to get halfway through before I finally decided to DNF it. I did not like the writing at ALL and the romance was just so bland that I just couldn’t be bothered to give this book my full attention. This is one book I will never be finishing, sorry to all of you Darcy fanatics out there but I’ve got one thing to say, if I ever saw Darcy walking towards me I would scream out “HELL NO” and run the other way.
4. Any genres you never read
I have never really read or paid attention to non-fiction outside of school. I’m more of creative and fictional type of person and I don’t really like to read about the real world since I consider reading to be an ‘escape’ from the troubles of modern-day reality and I prefer not to be reminded of everything wrong with the world through one of my favorite hobbies and pass times.
5. A book on my shelves that I’ll probably never read
This one’s relatively easy. One book I’ll probably never read would be ‘Miss Peregrine’s House for Peculiar Children’. Now I’ve had this book for almost three years now and I just don’t see myself reading it because every time I pick this up and decide to read it, I end up putting it back and picking something else up instead. Honestly, I think I’m going to give it away because I’m just not going to read it anytime in the near future.
