“No mourners. No funerals. Among them, it passed for ‘good luck.”
― Six of Crows
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Plot:
17 year old criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams.
But to claim it, he’ll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist that involves:
Breaking into the notorious Ice Court, a military stronghold that has never been breached, with less than favorable chances of success.
In order to retrieve a hostage, one who could unleash magical havoc on the world and might not even be alive.
And then survive long enough to collect his reward (and spend it)
Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done – and he knows exactly who:
six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer.
Together, they just might be unstoppable – that is if they don’t kill each other first.
Characters:
I really loved the characters from this book. All of their personalities were just so different and intriguing that I just couldn’t get enough of them.
I think Kaz and Inej were probably my favorite perspectives plus I ship them SO HARD it hurts sometimes!
Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book. It’s one of the best YA fantasies I’ve ever read.
Honestly it’s hard not to fall in love with this book because it’s incredibly well written, there is an abundance in character development and the story line is quite compelling.
I honestly love Kaz, he’s just such a great character and his personality just cracks me up.
He’s so blunt and sarcastic and selfish and I love it.
I think Mathias is one character that developed a lot in this book because as far as I remember at the start of the book Mathias hated the crew, especially Nina.
But as the story progresses, the crew grows on Mathias and he comes close to calling them friends.
Something else also happens between him and Nina, but I’ll let you find that out on your own 😉
And for god’s sake can kaz and Inej kiss already?! Like seriously, you could cut the tension with a knife for crying out loud!
I kinda didn’t really like Nina and Mathias at first but they really grew on me near the end and I absolutely adored Jesper and Wylan (so cute!)
Anyways, I loved this book, it was an amazing read and I think anyone who enjoys high fantasy or YA novels and action thrillers would enjoy this book, it’s a must read in my opinion.
Anyways that was my review for Six of Crows. I’m really sorry if it’s sucks, I was bored in school so I decided to post this. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and as always happy reading!
